As a Senior Python Developer at Flowstate, you will play a pivotal role in driving our backend development, focusing on algorithmic solutions and data processing. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in Python, a deep understanding of algorithm development, and a commitment to software quality and testing. You’ll lead the charge in building and refining sophisticated backend systems, ensuring robustness, scalability, and efficiency. Your role will be integral in transforming complex requirements into reliable software solutions that propel our innovative pipeline leak detection technology forward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect and implement complex backend algorithms in Python, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code for data processing and modeling, adhering to industry best practices.
- Lead efforts in automated testing and quality control of software components.
- Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
- Oversee code reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend algorithms with the overall system architecture.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Python development, with a strong focus on backend and algorithmic programming.
- Expertise in software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
- Extensive experience in automated testing and quality assurance of backend systems.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring and leading software development teams.
- Proficiency in Python’s scientific computing libraries and machine learning frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, needs, and deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver results with minimal oversight.
- Strong collaborative skills, with a history of working effectively in team environments.

Preferred
- Familiarity with distributed computing and processing large datasets efficiently.
- Experience with API development, and familiarity with technologies like .NET, Angular, React, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with visualization tools like Grafana, Plotly, or Matplotlib.
- Knowledge of cloud computing environments and containerization tools.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced or startup environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Proven track record in integrating machine learning algorithms into commercial products.
